  • Babies!!!

Ok, so we let the cat out of the bag a little sooner than planned but it's ok :) I'm seven weeks along (tomorrow will be eight weeks), or toward the end of my second month. Our baby is due in mid July.

Morning sickness hit me pretty hard yesterday but I think I have a better grasp on it today, I seem to be slightly more mobile. I have heard from a few people that ginger is supposed to help ease an upset stomach buuuut I wasn't having the best luck with the regular ginger tea you buy in the store or even the with sprinkling the powdered ginger in my regular tea. Yesterday I read a lady who was having the same issue say that if you cut off a couple slices from the ginger root and boil them for half an hour then it's much tastier and works better too. So I sent my husband to the store yesterday to get some ginger root. I got to try it this morning and it seems to be working quite well. I did put a tiny bit of honey in it, but either way I think it tastes way better than the store bought tea. It's worth a try if you have an up set tummy.

Here's how the weeks correspond with months (I think they assume all months are February ;) )

    First month (approx 1-4 weeks)

    Second month (approx 5-8 weeks)

    Third month (approx 9-13 weeks)

    Fourth month (approx 14-17 weeks)

    Fifth month (approx 18-22 weeks)

    Sixth month (approx 23-27 weeks)

    Seventh month (approx 28-31 weeks)

    Eighth month (approx 32-35 weeks)

    Ninth month (approx 36-40 weeks)

It was always frustrating for me to talk to a pregnant woman who only knew where she was in weeks because I had no clue what 29 weeks meant, but seven months made sense to me. So here you go :)

Congratulations! My in laws thought I was pregnant yesterday...my brother in law mistook my vomitting the day before as morning sickness and the good news I had to tell everyone as "Beth's pregnant!!!..."  Well I am not pregnant but I did get into nursing school! Oh well I guess my in laws will have to wait just a little longer... I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HAPPY FOR YOU!!! I have always been confused with the weeks of well, usually when a friend tells me how many weeks they are along I have to go look it up on some pregnancy website, now I can just come to yours :)  I've always found that Vernors ginger ale helped my nausea whenever I am sick, it is super strong ginger ale but is sometimes hard to find. If you get really sick you can always ask for a prescription of Zofran it's an anti nausea medication that is safe for pregnant women!
